🖋️ Maja Jantar is an interdisciplinary, multilingual and polysonic artist living in Isokyrö, Finland, whose work spans the fields of voice, the audio visual, ceramics, poetry, performance, opera and visual arts. In creating connections and engaging with the more than human, she is interested in hybrid forms, ecology and the arts as a form of ritual. She has performed individually and collaboratively throughout Europe, Canada, the United States and Japan, experimenting with poetic sound works since 1996. Her visual work has been shown in various venues in Europe, such as Arts Centre Wiels in Brussels and Palais de Tokyo in Paris. 2025 includes a solo exhibition at Maker’s Gallery, Vaasa (FI), and Stundars Museum (FI). In 2026 she will be directing “Raoul, Barbe Bleu” an opera by Grétry, at the Schloss Rheinsberg Festspiele (DE).

🗒️ FRIDAY, September 26, 2025 - 15:00 - 19:00 @ Palio Xydadiko (Genethliou Mitella, 3036, Limassol) with Sound Poetry and Voice Workshop .
ℹ️ During this 4-hour workshop, we will warm up our bodies and voices with vocal exercises and improvisation techniques, exchange vowels and make sounds together, even if they are cacophonous. Together we will explore ways to lift the text from the page and bring it into the performance space, listening to what it asks and desires from us. We will discuss examples and transform our text, exploring what it means to bend it, twist it, chew it, shout it out, whisper it, exhale it, return it to the mouth, roll it on the tongue and knock it between the teeth.
